What to know

• Discord raised the free limit from 10MB to 20MB in August 2026. Older guides still say 8MB, 10MB or 25MB.
• On mobile, Discord checks the original file size before it compresses, so a big phone video gets refused. Shrink it here first.
• At 20MB, a 16:9 video stays at 720p up to about 74 seconds, and at 480p up to about 2.5 minutes.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is processed on your device and never sent to a server.

Why is it slower than other sites?

Your device does the work instead of a server. There is no upload wait, but encoding takes longer on older phones.

Why did my video come out at a lower resolution?

A small file has room for only so much detail. Rather than a blocky 1080p video, the tool scales it down so it looks clean. Pick a bigger size or trim the clip to keep more resolution.

It says my browser cannot do it.

Use a current Chrome, Edge or Safari. Not every browser can read every video format.
